In the footsteps of the kings to the 5 major UNESCO World Heritage cities

Your itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Marocco!

Upon arrival in Marrakech, you will be received by your tour guide. Already on the short transfer from the airport to your hotel you get a first impression of this fascinating city. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 2: Breathtaking landscapes

The breathtaking road meandering through the mountains of the High Atlas will be the first highlight of the journey. At the 2,260-meter-high Tichka Pass, we enjoy the panorama and then come to an increasingly barren landscape that reminds us of the desert. How does it live in a Kasbah? Let's find out. We visit the Kasbah Taourirt, a huge and partly still inhabited Berber castle. In the afternoon we reach the most beautiful fortified village, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the South, the Ksar of Ait Benhaddou. A touch of glamor: The residential castles have served as a backdrop for many Hollywoodfilms. What do the inhabitants think about it? Overnight in Ouarzazate.

Day 3: Steppes and desert

An exciting and active day awaits us today. It goes to Erfoud. Through oases and past interesting irrigation systems, we arrive at our hotel. After moving into the rooms, we can optionally take a four-wheel drive into the desert. In the enchanting dune landscape we climb on camels to experience the feeling of the famous Transsahara caravan and hopefully a sunset. Overnight in Erfoud.

Day 4: Through Berber villages, fertile valleys and mountains

Today we leave early for Meknes. This approximately 500 km long route gives a very nice impression of the diversity of the landscapes of Morocco. First through arid desert landscapes and oases farther past spectacular mountain backdrops, the trail passes through fertile plains at Middelt. The ride continues through the Middle Atlas via Azru through the beautiful cedar and pine forest to Meknes. In late afternoon we visit Meknes, one of the royal cities a contrast to the experiences of the past days is the lively Meknes especially with the rubble square, the lanes of the Medina. Other points of interest include the water basin and the medieval stables. Overnight in Meknes.

Day 5: From the capital and royal city of Rabat to Casablanca

The day begins with a traditional folk art - knotting: world famous are the kilims and rugs of the Berbers. Let's listen to what the experts have to say about it. Maybe we like one or the other copy. At noon we reach Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Only here we have the opportunity to look behind the walls of a royal palace. Although it is not allowed to enter the interior of the palace, we have the opportunity in the spacious garden to talk about the royal family and the significance of the monarch for the country. At the mouth of the Bouregreg in the Atlantic, the mausoleum of the Kings Muhammed Vand Hassan II is located next to the mosque, which Yakoup el Mansour commissioned. In the late afternoon we drive along the Atlantic shore to Casablanca. Overnight in Casablanca.

6. Tag: Hasan II Mosque, Art Deco and "play Sam again"

The name Casablanca means for one movie story, for the other the epitome of Art Deco and for believing Muslims the Hassan II Mosque. We begin with a visit to the massive mosque Hassan II commissioned. (City tour and visit to the mosque suburb bookable € 19.- per person. Price not included, as access is not always possible.) Hundreds of plasterers, woodcarvers and construction workers have realized the plans of the architect Michel Pinseau in just six years. Afterwards we will get an impression of the modern metropolis during a city tour. The cityscape is characterized in particular by buildings with façades in Art Deco style. During a city tour, there is probably the opportunity to take a photo at "Rick's Café". In the afternoon, we leave Casablanca for a walk along the Atlantic Ocean, through a desert-like landscape, past prickly pears to Marrakech to reach. Upon arrival in Marrakech you can take part in a Marrakech city tour by night with carriage. Then a night in Marrakech.

Day 7: The fascination of Marrakesh

The Bahaia Palace, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bab Agnaou Gate are just two of Marrakech's historical attractions. However, you did not experience the city unless you dived into the hustle and bustle of the juggler's square between snake charmers, acrobats and storytellers. Walking through the medina, we will not be able to resist the temptation of looking at a "pharmacy" (the old spice merchants) from the inside. During the visit to the jewelry and leather studio, we learn interesting things about the production and have the opportunity to purchase a personal holiday souvenir.

Day 8: Ma'a Salama - Goodbye

"The only paradise from which we can not be expelled are our memories," said Jean-Paul. With a much greater paradise than when we arrive, we are leaving this beautiful country of Morocco heading home.

Hotel Description:

All hotels offer reception, bar and restaurant. The double room (occupancy: min/max 2 adults) have bath or shower/WC, telephone and TV. The single rooms are slightly smaller at the same facilities.
